Dump Truck Driver Killed In Single-Vehicle Maryland Crash Identified By Police

Additional details have been released by the Prince George's County Police Department after a dump truck driver died at the hospital following a crash in Brandywine.

Prince Frederick resident Frederick Hand, 76, has been identified by investigators as the driver involved in a fatal single-vehicle crash early on Monday afternoon.

Officers from the Prince George's County Police Department were called at around 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 28 to the area of Cedarville Road and Dent Road, where there was a dump truck on its side off the roadway.

Hand was found inside suffering from traumatic injuries and he died at the hospital after being rushed to a trauma center.

Investigators say that Hand was heading north on Cedarville Road when, for unknown reasons, his dump truck went off the roadway and struck several trees.

The crash remains under investigation 24 hours later.
